Is an AI literacy certificate mandatory?
No. The EU AI Act does not require a certificate for AI literacy, and there is no official EU AI literacy certificate. Article 4 requires measures to support AI literacy; how you implement and document them is up to you.
Then why do training providers issue certificates?
A certificate of completion is simply a record that a person completed a training. It can be useful evidence of the measures your organisation took. It is not a licence, a qualification or proof of compliance.
Be careful with claims like “EU certified”
No private course is certified or endorsed by the EU for Article 4. Treat any product that claims otherwise with caution.

- What training or guidance was given, to whom, and when
